❓ What does social connection / loneliness / isolation mean to you? These concepts are often seen and defined through the lens of traditionally higher income countries without considering how people in the majority of the world experience social connection. Our Multi-Country Investigation into Social Connection, Social Isolation, and Loneliness aims to give voice to people from the Global South. We conducted a total of 250 interviews with participants from India, Brazil, Morocco, Zimbabwe, and the Philippines to develop a more globally representative and culture-specific definition of these concepts. Prakhar Srivastava, Senior Researcher at ABSL and research contractor from India, introduces the project and its significance in our introduction video. The video will be our introduction to how our interviewees experience their social world. Through this series, we will share some revelations from our participants. Of course, we will be interested in hearing YOUR responses to these videos and learn how you experience social connection / loneliness / isolation. 🎤 Stay tuned in the coming weeks to hear from our participants and to let your voice be heard!
